It is often a strenuous exercise for parents to get their child enrolled into a school of their choice. The conundrum of school selection becomes challenging when neighbours and relatives offer their advice. While the web is flooded with suggestions, it ends up confusing parents further.
According to United Nations, school selection creates competitive pressure on parents. To eliminate this pressure, a Bangalore-based start-up has been working to digitalise school admissions. Edvantage Point (EP) is a discovery platform that helps parents pick the best school for their child. This platform, www.edvantagepoint.com, allows comparison of schools based on the board, locality or fee and parents can enquire or apply for admissions online.
On the other hand, Edvantage Point partners with schools and increases their digital footprint. Since schools rely heavily on several vendors/service providers, Edvantage Point also offers them hassle-free procurement services and allows schools to transact on the platform through a secure payment gateway.
The start-up which took shape in 2017 in the IT Hub of India, has made a significant impact in India, with over 7,000 verified schools partnering with them across Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. For every school added on the platform, the company follows a rigorous verification process and obtains legal consent from the school to share information with parents.
In addition, Edvantage Point also offers career guidance and counselling services to students. So far, the company has addressed queries of thousands of parents in India and people moving to India from abroad as well. 'œAn initial screening of any query/request is done by our team. After that, depending on the type of concern, we connect the parents to our team of counsellors' says Renuka Velamati, co-founder of Edvantage Point.
The start-up also offers teacher recruitment services for schools. 'œWe have a database of over 10,000 profiles and keep adding new profiles everyday. We fulfill school's requirements based on their needs and help them hire the right faculty' Renuka adds.
According to Seliha Muvva, CEO and co-founder of Edvantage Point: Our company's vision is to evolve into India's most credible and largest marketplace in education where edvantagepoint.com becomes every parent's 'œgo-to' platform for their children's education needs.
This pan-India school discovery platform is built with technologies that use analytics and machine learning to understand the needs of visitors or users in order to improve their experience.
