2019 Additive Manufacturing Strategies Summit Features Speakers From Across Industries

Sponsored Content

At the start of 2018, 3DPrint.com and SmarTech Markets Publishing  hosted the first annual Additive Manufacturing Strategies summit. Attendees gathered to learn more about 3D printing in the industries of medicine and dentistry. The technology’s impact on those industries is growing more and more significant, and a lot can change in one year, so at the end of January 2019 a second AMS summit on 3D printing in medicine and dentistry will be taking place.

Those who attend the summit are in for a valuable experience, as those who attended last year’s summit can attest. Even if you’re already well-versed in the worlds of 3D printing, medicine and dentistry, there’s no substitute for learning from a wide variety of people who have been working in those industries in different aspects. This year’s speakers include experts from the medical and dental industries, academia, the commercial and governmental sectors, and more. Attendees will learn about the business and investment side of the industry, as well as about the latest technologies and developments.

Events will include two workshops on January 29th. The first will be led by Robert Wesley, 3D Printing Biomedical Engineer at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and will focus on surgical planning. Attendees will get an in-depth look at what is required to build programs that enable surgical planning using 3D printing, and will learn about a wide range of topics including  imaging standards, software and equipment, identifying and recruiting clinical and administrative champions, most common clinical use cases in surgical planning, personnel requirements, regulatory considerations, operational workflow, pro forma building, and complementary services.

The second workshop is entitled “Dental 3DP: From the lab to the dental office,” and will be led by 3D printing industry analyst John Hornick. Topics will include how 3D printing applications are taking off in the dental sector and what equipment and materials are currently available, as well as trends including bringing 3D printing closer to the patient and into the dental office.

Several others speakers are lined up for the remaining two days of the conference, including:

  • Ken Burns, Technical Sales Director, FORECAST 3D
  • Maria Esquela, Volunteer and Leader, e-NABLE
  • Michael Gaisford, Director of Medical Solutions, Stratasys
  • Alyssa Glennon, Principle Engineer, Materialise
  • Rik Jakobs, Vice President, General Manager, Dental Solutions – 3D Systems
  • Justin Marks, Founder/CEO, Arfona
  • Joris Peels, Editor-in-Chief, 3DPrint.com
  • Davide Sher, Senior Analyst, Europe, SmarTech Markets Publishing
  • Dr. Ali Tinzali, Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences Strategy, HP
  • Jessica A. Zeaske, Director of Healthcare Investments, GE Ventures

This is just a partial list of professionals who will be speaking at the AMS summit this year, and more are still to be added. This year’s conference is full of expertise in the medical, dental, and 3D printing industries, and everyone who attends will find themselves learning a great deal.

The Additive Manufacturing Strategies Summit is taking place from January 29th to 31st in Boston, Massachusetts.
